Question
What is different between USB 1.1, USB 2.0, USB 2.0 Hi-Speed, USB 2.0 Full-Speed and USB 2.0 Basic-Speed ?
Answers
Since the release of USB 2.0, customers had started to view USB 1.1 as inferior to USB 2.0 due to the slower speeds it is capable of, and they wanted machines with the fast version.
In December 2002, USB Forum decided to rename USB 1.1 USB 2.0 while keeping the faster USB 2.0 with the same name.
Products that operate at only low or full-speed can qualify to use only the Basic Version of the logo.
